Ignition Gloucestershire was established in 2006 with two clear aims
• To transform the lives of individuals and extend God’s kingdom
• To assist churches reaching out in mission as they work together
The ‘taskforce’ and ‘trustees’ of ignition Gloucestershire represent churches from across the denominations and the Stroud area, working closely with ‘Churches Together in Stroud’ and ‘The Door’ youth project.
We long to see people come to faith in Jesus Christ and become firmly rooted in local church. Experience shows us that one of the most effective ways of doing this is for the church to work together locally and for Christians to be well prepared in ‘personal evangelism’ (which can simply mean no more than being willing to invite friends, families and colleagues to a non threatening event).
J.Johns ‘breaking news’ course which helps train individuals in being prepared to share their faith was completed by over 1500 people in the area and is still being used to equip local church.

We have organised two very successful large Christmas Celebrations over the last two years and the main ‘ignition07’ mission in Stroud last June in a 1800 seater Big Top over 4 days which attracted thousands of guests, hosted a mammoth picnic and one of the largest set of Sunday School classes ever witnessed in the area with a great deal of creativity!
In addition ignition has organised training courses to equip and resource the whole church for mission; working with churches throughout the county, and from all denominations.

We have been privileged to have such engaging speakers as J.John with a ‘Bite Size Just 10’ and Mark Ritchie last Christmas, we’ve also hosted a ‘Captivity to Freedom’ evening featuring Paul Jones and Fiona Hendley - Jones together with the ‘March of the Abolitionists’, and have received training from leading practitioners such as Martin Robinson.
During 2008 Ignition is looking to continue in this goal through events such as
Journeys, Hope and Sparks for Mission
